Erosion Control and Scour Repair
Dominion Divers Ltd. has the experience and capability to carry out cost effective repairs or provide protection to underwater structures using Structure Guard GeoForm grout bags and high strength engineered concrete.
GeoForm bags can be used to build underwater forms for void repairs in areas of high wave action or water flow, such as around bridge piers or retaining walls. They can also be used to armour plate areas subject to ice damage, or as protection against scour in areas downstream of spillways etc.
We have also used GeoForm grout bags for protection and support of fibre optic cables and submarine pipelines.

In this project Dominion Divers repaired a section of undermined sea wall on Lake Superior.
The area to be repaired was first cleaned with a high pressure water jet. ReBar dowels were then drilled and epoxy anchored into the bed rock and adjacent concrete. Five cubic meter bags with internal 20 m steel reinforcing were installed over the vertical dowelling and pumped full with 35 mpa concrete. While the concrete was still plastic, additional vertical dowels are driven in to pin the subsequent layers. The final lift was left smooth and slightly sloped to help shed water, then 35 mpa concrete with anti wash and plasticizer was pumped into the void behind the bags to create a solid and permanent repair.
